KelelaNew Avatar

Kelela has a way of grounding electronic abstractions with a vocal presence that feels startlingly close. On New Avatar, the textures lean into a hazier, guitar-flecked territory, letting those shoegaze influences drift through her usual rhythmic precision. It is a subtle shift that rewards quiet attention, where the heavy, soulful melodies start to blur against the edges of the production. There is a specific tension here between the digital clarity and the wash of noise that feels entirely singular.
